MOVEMENT AT Downtown Houston

PARKOUR outdoor Classes For youth

Parkour is an art of reclaiming your environment in new ways that transcend modern intentions; This is done through movement that is synergistic and sometimes antagonistic with everyday obstacles. This Art can be practice anywhere, and one doesn’t need a rooftop to start. This is evident with parkour gyms and gymnastics facilitates here in Houston; these gyms allow practitioners a controlled, scalable and safe environment to progress and learn parkour skills.

Parkour has traditionally been an outdoor endeavor, but without proper instruction or guidance it can be seen as daunting and even dangerous.

With the above in mind we’ve brought Parkour classes back to Downtown Houston parks, these parks are where Houston parkour training first started and have shaped many practitioners in the Houston area.

We aim to provide a streamlined, curated and safe way to experience and train Parkour Outdoors.

Martial play (new class)

Martial Play is a new class that aims to teach Martial art concepts through play. The goal is to utilize the child’s innate inclination to play & compete as a way to help gauge boundaries, limits when engaging with one another. The class is designed to get the students immersed in a world of imagery where combat and fantasy are the forefront. the strategies as the instructor of this class is set parameters of play ( i.e. whats safe whats unsafe whats honorable and what isn’t), while shepherding their combative skills, that will ultimately build character.

in this class we cover the basics in:

  • stick fighting

  • defensive maneuvers

  • postures and positioning
